Its Saturday morning, the Sun is shining, the sky is clear and blue, which after a couple of days of heavy storms is always splendid to see. There is a remarkable atmosphere of wellbeing and peace moving through the house, which Incidentally has nothing to do with the pleasant aromas of freshly chopped Chorizo, Bacon and Capsicum ready for the Omelette that Jane is rustling up in the kitchen…..
My mobile rings, and whilst I don’t recognise the number, my cheerful disposition takes over as I answer the call..
“Hello, Good Morning !” I cheerily announce.
“Is this Tim ?” asks an unfamiliar voice, on the other end of the phone.
“Hold On, I’ll just check for you.” I said, after waiting a few seconds, and I cheerily announce “Yes, I’ve just checked and it is me, how can I help ?”
“I’m the Psychiatrist your Dr. referred you to yesterday, I was just wondering when you would like an appointment ?” came the just ever so slightly bemused response.
I spent the rest of the call pondering what issues the lovely lady on the other end of the phone had already diagnosed in my troubled psyche.
Apparently the first appointment is for 90 minutes, I was told as the rates were explained to me in a very efficient manner.
“Will I need more than one appointment then ?” I casually asked, “It certainly sounds like it.” came the concerned reply, and from the tone it was delivered in, I don’t think she was joking.
