New Toy and Giggling in the Bathroom

Having unwrapped my  Easter present from Jane I asked her to leave me alone for a few minutes.

This is not the sort of thing I wanted to play with whilst she was watching. After she reluctantly left me to my own devices, I retired to the Bathroom and unpacked the box and all its accessories.

Some of these devices I know are cordless these days, but this one still required an attachment to the mains, and afterwards a few minutes for it to reach its full potential.

This was a first for me. I was nervous, excited and just a little worried. Who knows what sort of damage can be done with a device like this in unskilled hands.

Following the instructions included in the box to the letter I sectioned out my hair and lifted up a half inch wide portion,  of my now, satisfyingly long hair, and fed it into the open jaws of my metallic purple and rapidly warming  Easter present.

Putting a very slight pressure onto the machine, caused the motor to kick in and my hair was slowly and painlessly wound into the machine with a gentle whir that was followed by a soft bleep to let me know the initial process was complete. Holding the pressure on the jaws of the machine for a few more seconds triggered the second set of beeps that told me the process was complete, and it was time to release the pressure.

It is worth pointing out, that all the way through this process I was gazing into the vast expanse of mirror that hangs in front  of our vanity units in the En Suite bathroom. It was hard, but necessary. Its easy to get the machine the wrong way round and then I am reliably informed (TM) it just gets messy.

So with my gaze utterly transfixed on the Vidal Sassoon gadget in my right hand, I gently released the pressure, and watched in amazement as a beautiful curl cascaded out of the jaws of the machine and fell softly down the side of my face.

It was a moment of pure joy. A smile turned into a giggle, and a giggle into a gentle laugh. Never in my life could I have imagined such a simple pleasure. I just curled my hair….Me…..It was a significant moment. Never did I anticipate the immense satisfaction that would arrive from producing a single strand of loosely curled long shiny red hair…

The solo giggling continued and Jane eventually arrived in the bathroom to see what the fuss was about. We hugged, we giggled together,  and I was compelled to demonstrate on Janes hair.

This is me……It really is, and I think I’m starting to get the hang of it.
