Nailed It………

I have for more years than I care to remember, harboured a desire to have  a professional manicure. Past attempts  with glued on  nails and even stickers haven’t even come close to hitting the spot.

A recent discussion with Jane saw us resolve to get it done. We got as far as heading into the town to get it done,  but standing in front of the Nail Salon in Busselton, I couldn’t bring myself to engage their services. There is so much I don’t know about this stuff, I didn’t even know what to ask for, and to be honest its just to close to home….

Bathurst, New South Wales is more than 4000 kilometres from Busselton and just about far enough away to give me some comfort.

With my courage bolstered by geographic disparity and feeling especially happy after a fun days riding across the Blue Mountains Jane and I had a full set of acrylic nails glued, filed, shaped, polished and buffed.

Jane went for  a bold pinky, purple colour, and I selected a Neutral / Pinky Bone  shade. After a long day of riding, it felt fantastic to be doing something so frivolous.

I don’t know how long they last, or if they will still be firmly affixed by the time I have to go back to the office next week, or even if I should worry about that. In the meantime this marks another first for me, and one of which I am currently rather pleased, even if it does feel a little weird typing.

I do love a good neutral! I’ve sent through a coffee catchup invite for when you are back too 🙂

Not even the Nullarbor could chip a good acrylic. I look forward to seeing the handiwork

Acrylic nails feel so weird to type with! You soon get used to it though and then if you end up taking the acrylics off you have to get used to it feeling weird without them!
I really like the nude shade you chose. Very subtle and classy 🙂
