The Camera Never Lies….

The idea that “the Camera never lies” is a concept that is open for much discussion, especially now in this digital age where filters and effects can be added to a photograph more easily than ever before.

Personally I believe there is still much merit in this old cliché, which is why I am not feeling as comfortable in my skin as I was yesterday.

Essentially the Camera really doesn’t lie, but I’m finding it hard to accept the truth that todays camera is revealing.

I think we all have a different perception of who we are looking at. It makes it difficult to see anything wrong with the image that is causing you so much distress.

Suzanne my friend, just a few thoughts. A photograph is a frozen moment in time. It doesn’t have emotion or a heartbeat. It doesn’t define who you are. It is just a glimpse of a single second in your life. We all have photos taken that cause us to have a sharp intake of breath and a momentary OMG! Just because the photo caught us unprepared and vulnerable does not mean that it fully captures who we are. The beauty of a photograph is that we have the power to destroy the image. Don’t have it in your life. Get out the photos that make your heart sing, the ones that make you calm and happy. Don’t give this frozen, unemotional moment in time any more power than it deserves. Keep going forward Suzanne, you WILL get there and what a great place it will be when you finally arrive. x

The camera may or may not lie, but our minds can. You know this 🙂

You are ok. You are more than ok. You will see 🙂 xx

The camera doesnt lie but our interpretations can be wack. See the what colour is the dress scandals of last year.

The camera may not lie. Photo shop lies through its tiny little bytes. But then if the camera didn’t do it by itself. It’s not a photo to me any more but a picture and a picture is an interpretation.

Have faith in good old time and not much time either, you will become increasingly happier with that camera
