Disrupting the Established Regime

I have in the past played my part in disrupting some established regimes…Sometimes this is harder than others. Frequently its simply a matter of removing a key piece and waiting, a bit like playing Jenga. Just like popping out that pesky piece in Jenga, hitting the right spot is immensely satisfying. Of course other times, it’s a little more challenging, and months of patience is called for before real change can begin.

Right now, I’m blitzing a different kind of regime.. Inactivity is a stultifying dictator that presided over me for far too long, and finally  his grip is being weakened.

My exercise routine is now starting to feel normal. Sure its uncomfortable and challenging, but after maintaining it for a few weeks, I can confidently proclaim that it is starting to make sense. My patient PT assures me she can see the difference, I can’t see a difference, but I can feel something. Today for the 2nd time in 7 days I pushed myself to a full Cardio workout. Thirty minutes with my heart rate just short of the max. No PT in sight. Just me, in a tiny super heated tin shed, and a desire to not hang my head in shame any more.

The shame is real, I feel terrible about what I have done to my body I just hope the fleeing dictator has not left me with an insurmountable challenge….

Go girl :-). I myself had a different battle with a different dictator over the last year – but it sure feels good to poke that dictator in the eye and say (to quote Rocky “You ain’t so bad, you ain’t nothin’”). Now at certain times, walking past certain signs and shops, I get another little voice. “I beat you”.

You’re a champion. That easier feeling, while not quite joyful yet, is your body starting (just starting) to love you back. 🙂
