I bought this camera for quite a few reasons, none of which were terribly logical, I guess it was mostly just because I liked the Red !!!
The 294MC Pro was the right price, it was in stock, it was cooled, and it looked like it would give me lots of pixels, with great results, and all whilst keeping within a budget.
My aspiration was for the much more expensive, and very well specified ZWO ASI2600MC PRO AIR PLUS etc. etc. , but this can wait.
On reflection I think the 294 was an excellent choice, because since purchasing it, I have learned it’s quirky, requires TLC to extract the best out of it, but it really is worth the effort.
As I am learning as I go, I think having a camera that requires a little more work, it’s probably a really good idea.
There are literally thousands of pages of information relating to this camera, its going to be fun sifting through it all to learn what I can.
In the meantime I am happy to work to understand how to squeeze the best out of it, whilst developing my skills before, during, and after the imaging session, all very important stuff.
