Testing Calibration
Tonight it was clear, and although the conditions were not great, I found myself sat in front of the Redcat Edition, ZWO AM5N Mount, running through the Polar Alignment process.
Overall the visibility and “seeing” was very poor.
The Moon was very bright, and everyone around us has their fires going, resulting in lots of haze and light pollution.
However I did manage to image two objects, and tomorrow when I download the files, I hope to be able to see the impact of my calibration frames.
Struggling
It really was a major effort to get the scope out and set up, motivation has been hammered by another deep, dark depression descending since this morning.
The growing sense of despair started when I saw the sheer volume of smashed objects in our storeroom.
I haven’t been in there since before Christmas, when we had a large team of electricians working to upgrade our solar system, and installing Ethernet cables.
They needed access to a wall point and pulled and tugged at a couple of cupboards, one of which was screwed to the wall.
What followed was chaos.
There were smashed models and various other items that came out of the cupboards scattered everywhere.
What was particularly distressing was the evidence that these items were then walked on.
Progress
By the time we packed up, I think I was feeling a little better.
Maybe this improvement will be assisted by seeing some great images emerging tomorrow……
